About Us

More Than a Broker.
We’re Your Trusted Advisors.

For most pet resort owners, selling is a legacy transaction - the culmination of years spent building your business. You’re the expert at running it. We’re the experts at preparing and selling it.

We advise you throughout the sale, bringing clarity to key decisions, protecting the value you’ve built, and helping maximize your outcome.

The Cantara Approach

We Speak Pet

Cantara advises pet care businesses exclusively. This focus gives us a detailed understanding of how pet resorts operate, what drives value, and how buyers evaluate pet resorts.

Value Is Captured in Preparation

Much of a sale outcome is determined before a business ever goes to market. We proactively assess financial, operational and regulatory issues before listing, and build your business growth story that buyers pay a premium for.

The Owner Comes First

Cantara is not a volume-based brokerage. We work selectively with owners where we can make a meaningful difference, focusing every recommendation on maximizing your outcome - not simply closing a transaction.

One Team, Start to Finish.

Craig personally leads every engagement, from first call through close. No handoffs or junior associates. You're working with the person who built the firm - backed by an experienced team focused on you.

The People Behind Every Engagement

Meet the people you'll work with from first call through close.

Craig Pollack

CEO

Craig founded Cantara after more than 15 years across the pet care industry - as an operator of multiple pet resorts, a co-founder of Village Pet, a private equity-backed aggregator, and an advisor to buy-side private equity groups.

He personally leads every Cantara engagement, from the first conversation through closing, bringing both an operator’s perspective and a clear understanding of how buyers evaluate pet care businesses.

Craig holds a degree in marketing from the University of British Columbia and began his career in brand management at Procter & Gamble. His approach is direct, practical and focused on helping owners make well-informed decisions at every stage.

Gabriela Torres

Director of Operations & Client Success

Gabriela leads operations and client success at Cantara, working closely with pet resort owners throughout each engagement. She coordinates deliverables, keeps timelines on track and ensures that the many details involved in preparing and selling a business are handled with precision.

Gabriela brings hands-on experience from a multi-location North American pet resort operator, including roles focused on the day-to-day running of the business, as well as experience at Village Pet.

Earlier in her career, she spent nearly five years as a marketing and communications consultant. Her working style is organized, responsive and understanding, giving owners a clear point of contact throughout the process.

Aliya Babul

Director of Technology

Aliya leads technology at Cantara and built the firm’s proprietary platform and analytical tools, designed to make complex information clear, practical and easier for owners to act on.

She holds a PhD from Columbia University, where her research contributed to the LIGO gravitational-wave discovery recognized by the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics, and an MBA from Oxford. Her prior experience includes roles at Morgan Stanley, NVIDIA and M Ventures.

Aliya is also the founder of Bab Al Ilm, an AI strategy and product firm serving clients globally. She combines analytical rigor with a user-focused approach, ensuring Cantara’s technology strengthens the client experience rather than adding complexity.
